Steve Barney was born in Vermont in 1942. He Holds a B.A. in Italian from New York University and the University of Florence. He was in the US Navy for 5 years. After selling cars in Italy from 1970 to 1977 he formed Foreign Cars Italia, a factory authorized dealer for Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Porsche. He sold his interest in that company in the nineties, and formed Sport Auto in 2000.He is a retired senior concours judge with the Ferrari Club of America. He enjoys vintage racing, scuba diving (hence our seahorse logo), and flies a Piper Aztec. Feel free to call or email Steve regarding Ferrari and Porsche cars.

Tom Jones was born in North Carolina in 1949. He was in the US Coast Guard for 4 years. His early work as a technician included attending factory schools for Alfa Romeo, Lotus, Triumph, Volvo, and Mercedes Benz. He joined Steve Barney at Foreign Cars Italia in 1977, and was the lead Ferrari technician for 24 years. Also he attended Ferrari training schools at Ferrari North America, and at the factory in Maranello, Tom was very involved in the Ferrari Challenge series. Marie Satterfield graduated high school in Madison, NC, and received Associate degrees in Accounting and Applied Science from Rockingham Community College. Marie joined the Sport Auto team in March of 2004, bringing with her twelve years of accounting experience. She handles our accounting, sales paperwork and various other duties to ensure that the office and showroom run smoothly.

Benny is originally from Guatemala and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and handles our Latin America transactions. He is a walking encyclopedia of Formula One statistics and named his oldest son Ayrton after Brazilian World Champion, Ayrton Senna.
