Dealer Principal
Steve Barney was born in Vermont in 1942. He Holds a B.A. in Italian from New York University and the University of Florence. He was in the US Navy for 5 years. After selling cars in Italy from 1970 to 1977 he formed Foreign Cars Italia, a factory authorized dealer for Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Porsche. He sold his interest in that company in the nineties, and formed Sport Auto in 2000.He is a retired senior concours judge with the Ferrari Club of America. He enjoys vintage racing, scuba diving (hence our seahorse logo), and flies a Piper Aztec. Feel free to call or email Steve regarding Ferrari and Porsche cars.

Master Technician
Tom Jones was born in North Carolina in 1949. He was in the US Coast Guard for 4 years. His early work as a technician included attending factory schools for Alfa Romeo, Lotus, Triumph, Volvo, and Mercedes Benz. He joined Steve Barney at Foreign Cars Italia in 1977, and was the lead Ferrari technician for 24 years. Also he attended Ferrari training schools at Ferrari North America, and at the factory in Maranello, Tom was very involved in the Ferrari Challenge series. Sales
David Nierle was born in Williamsport, PA
and lived there until going away to school. He attended Electronics
Institutes and West Chester University. Over the years Dave has
lived in Maryland, Philly and now in Greensboro, NC since '95.
He has recently retired from Siemens Medical Solutions after a
long career in sales and executive management. Dave has always
been a car guy starting with classics like his Chevelle SS396 and
Dodge Charger. Today he has a Ferrari F355, BMW 325is track car and a
BMW 530i as a daily driver. Dave is very happy to be working with
the great team at Sport Auto and the cars he likes so much.

Office & Internet Manager
Marie Satterfield was born in Stuart, VA, graduated high school in Madison, NC, and received Associate degrees in Accounting and Applied Science from Rockingham Community College. Marie joined the Sport Auto team in March of 2004, bringing with her twelve years of accounting experience. She handles our accounting, boutique, and various other duties in our show room
to ensure that the office runs smoothly. Marie also enjoys taking pictures, scrap booking and spending time with her
husband and three children.

Sales
Nico was born in Santiago, Chile, in 1972 and has an MBA in
marketing from the University of Hamburg in Germany. He speaks
Spanish, German and English fluently.
Upon completion of his studies in 1999 he moved to the USA and
sold Mercedes-Benz in Michigan and exotic cars in Arizona before
moving to Greensboro in 2006. He spent four years selling
Ferraris with Foreign Cars Italia and was one of their leading
sales professionals. He drives a Mercedes CLK 55 AMG and has an
expansive knowledge of Ferraris and Maseratis. His passion for
fast cars and his willingness to help the customer find the
right car is a perfect combination. Sport Auto is delighted to
welcome Nico to our staff where he has already shown himself to
be a great team player. Nico’s hobbies include snow-boarding,
racquet ball and spending time with his two children.

Benny is originally from Guatemala and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and handles our Latin America transactions. He is a walking encyclopedia of Formula One statistics and named his
oldest son Ayrton after Brazilian World Champion, Ayrton Senna. |
